Swasthya Kendra
5,736 people used the Swasthya Kendra in 2025–26, up from 5,365 the year before.
The centre looks after Madanpur Khadar’s healthcare needs, with general medical services for the whole community: general OPD care, antenatal and postnatal services, and treatment for common illnesses, reproductive tract infections, with referrals and health guidance. It is for people who lack easy access to government-run primary health centres, dispensaries and hospitals. Our first community-based health centre was started in 1997–98.

Care for common illnesses
The centre treats common illnesses such as diarrhoea, fever, skin diseases and respiratory tract infections.
It also provides basic maternity and child health care, family planning and referral services. The Swasthya Kendra at Madanpur Khadar has run since 2007 and is our flagship health programme.

Health education, every visit
Awareness is built all the time: during the OPD, medical examinations and immunisation, and in prayer meetings, classes and the assembly hall.
Topics are chosen by what the community needs and its current problems: hygiene, environmental sanitation, food hygiene, hand washing, a balanced diet, and iodine deficiency disorders.

School Health Program
1,192 schoolchildren were given check-ups and OPD care in 2025–26, up from 874.
A medical team of a Medical Officer and an ANM examines every student twice a year: screening for refractive errors, anaemia, dental problems, skin diseases, intestinal worms, ear discharge and night blindness, and assessing mental alertness, general weakness and overall hygiene. The clinic also gives first aid and emergency care to children and staff.

A record of every child
Each child has a cumulative health record: health issues, treatment advice and follow-up.
Children who need specialised treatment are referred to hospitals, including AIIMS, and followed up by the medical team. Children with anaemia are advised a protein- and iron-rich diet and given nutritional supplements; children with dental problems are taught to brush twice a day. Children get OPD care and medicines for general weakness, anaemia, colds, coughs and fever, and parents and teachers are given health guidance and counselling too.

National Deworming Campaign
The deworming campaign was organised by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare: 848 students and 32 staff, from Nursery to Class V, were given deworming tablets.
The clinic also held two awareness sessions for parents: one on waterborne diseases such as diarrhoea, cholera and typhoid, and how hand-washing, clean drinking water and cleaning prevent them; one on health and hygiene, healthy eating and a balanced diet for children.
